Double headed 12 Course Lute
	12 courses; 67cm, 72, 77, 82 & 89cm, after VVendelio Venere 1603 (Darmstadt No. 19) 21 ribs; the original is in heartwood yew with maple strips between. Neck and curved pegboxes veneered in stripes of ebony and ivory. Top course f'. Naturally Venere did not make it in this form in 1603, but it has been professionally converted to the double-headed form, probably sometime around the 1640's or 1650's In fact this particular instrument was based on the body of the Magno Tieffenbrucker of the same size but with 37 ribs with ebony strips between the yew.
