CNS Centenary Celebrations

1910 - 2010




City of Norwich School was founded in September 1910
CNSU, the Headteacher and Governors of the school hope you will be able to join us to celebrate the occasion at one or more of these events.



Wednesday 8th September at 4.00pm

Centenary Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving at St Peter Mancroft church in the centre of Norwich. This is the exact anniversary of the foundation of the school. All are welcome and, thanks to generous support from Norwich City Council, we are able to offer a small reception of tea, coffee at City Hall after the service for those of you who are able to stay on.


Saturday 11th, September from 12.00 – 4.00pm

Open Day at the school with photographs and other memorabilia on display. These open days are a wonderful opportunity to re-visit the scene of your schooldays, meet up with old colleagues and see how the school has changed to meet the demands of 21st century education.


Friday 24th – Sunday 26th September

Circus Big Top performances. Current students will start their centenary celebrations on Monday, 20th September, the day when, 100 years ago, the first students entered the school. They will enjoy a week of preparations for a weekend of circus performances with the professionals from Circus Ferrel. Friday 3rd, December 6.45 for 7.30pm

Centenary Dinner. The big event of the year for many of you will undoubtedly be the to be held at CNS on. This will be a silver-service dinner. I am attaching a booking form with this letter, so why not book a table with friends from your school-days and join us for the dinner of the century! Click here for more details.


Friday 1st April 2011 at 7.30pm

Centenary Concert at St Andrew’s Hall in Norwich. If you are a musician or a singer and think that you would like to take part in the concert please contact me and I will pass your details on to the organisers. Details of ticket prices and other arrangements will be available shortly.
